Ruth M. Waterman, age 95 of Amery, Wisconsin died on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Golden Age Manor. She was born on July 8, 1920 in Amery to Fred and Marie (Gubrud) Nelson. She was baptized into the Christian faith on August 1, 1920 and confirmed on July 16, 1935 at Balsam Lutheran Church. Ruth attended school in Amery and was united in marriage to Walter R. Waterman in 1937. To this union six children; David, Daniel, Roger, Marilyn, Wanda and Lynette were born.

She spent her lifetime in the Amery area, raising her family and working 20 years at Golden Age Manor. Ruth was an active volunteer, caregiver, and member of the Congregational Church. Swimming and fishing in her beloved Apple River were at the top of her list of things to do. She also enjoyed traveling, collecting antique dishes, going to garage sales and most of all, the time she spent with family and friends. The coffee "meetings" with her friends on Minneapolis Avenue was an important part of her social life.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; son, Danny; daughter, Wanda; grandson, Duane; daughter-in-law, Vera; brother, Milton; sisters, Fern Sylvester, Nester Harbin and Betty Freitag. She is survived by her sons, David (Julie Bibeau); Roger (Pat); daughters, Marilyn (Denny) Iverson; Lynette (Steve) Bryant; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter; as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Friday, August 28, 2015 at the United Congregational Church of Christ with Pastor Barry Schaefer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 PM Thursday at the Williamson~White Funeral Home, 222 Harriman Avenue North Amery, WI. Burial will be at the Amery Cemetery.
