Ruth Margret Wise passed away peacefully on October 12, 2015. Ruth was born June 13, 1926 to Arthur Paul Gross Sr. and Minnie May Panschow in Osceola, WI.
Ruth was raised on a farm in rural Osceola, WI. It was here she met Herbert Wise. They corresponded throughout his service in the Marine Corps during WWII and married on October 17, 1946.
Herb and Ruth settled on a farm east of Amery in 1951 and it was here they raised their children. Ruth was an avid gardener and planted a huge garden every year. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She knew the birthdates of all her family and friends and never failed to announce them on the local Amery radio station. In April 2014, Ruth moved into Amery Memory Care where she enjoyed the company of friends and the wonderful care and friendship of staff. She referred to Amery Memory Care as "the resort".
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert Earl Wise, daughter Nancy Kay Wise, her brother Arthur Gross Jr. and son-in-law Herb LeBlanc.
Ruth is survived by daughters Dianna (Gary) Haley, Sandra (Herb) LeBlanc, and Susan (Mark) Otto; 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren and her sister Rosella (Merlin) Johnson.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 4-7 pm at the Williamson-White Funeral Home. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at the Williamson-White Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 24, 2015, with a visitation from 10-11:00 am. Burial will take place at the Amery Cemetery following the service. Lunch will be served at the American Legion Hall, 320 Memorial Drive, Amery, WI.
