Obituary

Shirley Ann Tourville passed away at Region's Hospital in St. Paul on Thursday evening, January 22, 2015 at the age of 72 years. She was born in Spring Valley, Wisconsin on October 30, 1942 the daughter of Ole and Florence Olson. She spent her early years in Spring Valley and after schooling she helped several families in the area doing home care. On October 9, 1961 she was united in marriage to Donald Tourville in California. They stayed in California for a couple years, but moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. While in the twin cities Shirley worked at a sewing factory. They moved south to Atlanta, Texas where they lived until 1983. Moving back north they settled in Amery, Wisconsin where they have made their home since. Shirley enjoyed playing cards with friends and family. She liked gardening, especially flowers. She liked the challenge of a good crossword puzzle as well. A favorite pass time was helping take care of her grandkids.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Dennis, Morris, Conrad and Harry; sister Fran and a great grandson Wyatt Tourville. Surviving family members include her husband of 53 years, Donald,; sons Ronald and Fred; daughter Lori (Greg) Carlson; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers David Olson and Clifford Olson; sister Doris (Ken) Wilson as well as other relatives and friends.


Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Amery. There will be visitation at the church for the hour prior to the service. Private family interment will be at the later date at the Amery Cemetery.
