Sidney Alexander Ellingsworth was born on April 14, 1925 in Garfield Township, WI to Harry and Sigrid (Johnson) Ellingworth. Sidney passed away on August 25, 2014, at Amery Regional Medical Center in Amery, WI. Sidney was the third born of eleven children. After school, he worked on the family farm and then at Co-operative Creamery in Dresser, WI until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in February of 1944. Sidney was Honorably Discharged in May of 1946. On July 22, 1946, Sidney married Vivian Eldora Turner. The couple made their home in Little Falls, Wisconsin where together they raised six children; Carolyn, Dale, Barbara, Gary, Gail and Tracy. Sidney worked at Doboy for many years until he broke his back and later retired from Friday's Canning Company in New Richmond, WI after 28 years. On June 28, 1980, Sidney married Josephine Feste and his family grew to include six stepchildren; Dick, Diane, Joe, David, Sandi and Kathy. Sidney enjoyed dancing, listening to music, spending time with family, traveling and playing cards. Sidney was a character, always joking and putting a smile on faces of those around him.
Sidney was preceded in death by his first wife, Vivian; parents, Harry and Sigrid; Son, Dale; Stepson, Joe; Stepdaughter, Sandi; four brothers, four sisters, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is survived by his wife, Josephine; daughters, Carolyn Whitehead; Barb (Cliff) Swager; Gail (Todd Slattengren) Vance; Tracy (James) Vance; son, Gary (Cheryl) Ellingsworth; stepdaughters, Diane (Rod) Larson and Kathy (Tucker) Feste; stepsons, Dick (Lori) Feste and David (Patty) Feste ; 18 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; brothers, Mike Ellingsworth and Larry "Chuck" Ellingsworth, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.
Visitation will be held at Williamson-White Funeral Home from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2014. Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amery on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Deronda Cemetery.
