Stanley Dean Petersen, age 56 of Amery, WI passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at his home in Amery. He was born on August 21, 1955 to Leslie and Priscilla (Strenge) Petersen in Estherville, Iowa. As a child the family moved to Amery where Stan attended school. While in school he was on the basketball team and graduated from Amery High School in 1973. He then took a job at Super Lockers in Amery, and later made his career in the construction field where he was still employed. In 1991 Stan married Diana Cain and the couple made their home in Amery. Stan loved motorcycles and the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was also an avid Packer and Badger fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Les Petersen and a sister, Alesia Nielsen. He is survived by his mother, Priscilla Petersen; wife, Diana Cain-Petersen; step children, Adam and Rachel Cain and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from First Lutheran Church in Amery with Pastor Tim Bjorge officiating. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery as well as the hour prior to the service at the church. Pallbearers are Steve Strenge, Adam Cain, Lee Gorres, Garrett Gorres, Mark Carlson and Skip Hallman. There will be a private family interment at a later date at the Amery Cemetery.
