Susan "Sue" Marie Thompson (Anderson) of Amery, WI passed away peacefully at her home after a courageous battle against cancer on November 10, 2010 at the age of 55 years. She was born in Rice Lake, WI to Robert and Mary Lou Anderson. Sue attended grade school in Prairie Farm, WI and graduated from New Richmond High School in New Richmond, WI in 1973. She attended the City College of Cosmetology in Eau Claire, WI and received her practitioner's license in 1975. She later received her manager's license in cosmetology.

Sue married Robert "Bob" Thompson in March 1981 at the First Lutheran Church in New Richmond. Susan and Robert were married 17 years and had two children from this union, Bradley and Melissa.

Sue worked at several wonderful hair salons in Florida, Reedsburg, WI, and Amery. She had the pleasure to serve, style, and listen to customers of hers for over 35 years. Susan loved her job and the friendships she made. She also loved traveling, flower gardening, and enjoying sunsets and the change of seasons from her home on North Twin Lake in Amery. Sue loved watching her children grow up, giving them inspiration, courage, and determination, but she especially loved playing and singing with her grandchild, Lily, over the past 4 years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, church council at the Congregational Church in Amery, and served on many clubs and organizations as her children grew and attended Amery schools, son enlisted in the Army National Guard, and daughter enrolled in college.

Susan is preceded in death by her father Robert Anderson. She is survived by her mother Mary Lou Anderson (Peterson) of New Richmond; sister Cindy Osborn (David) of Eagan, MN; son Bradley Thompson of Clear Lake, WI; daughter Melissa Thompson of Amery and granddaughter and love of her


life, LilyMae Thompson. She also has many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, special customers, and many loving and caring friends.

A special thanks is to be given to all those who have lent a helping hand, shoulder to cry on, thought, prayer, and gift during Sue's battle against cancer this past year. Thank you to all those that helped finish her bathroom so she could stay at home during her final weeks. She was a very special lady who had the ability to make anyone feel welcome. Sue has been a friend, teacher, daughter, and mother to many people over the years. She will be greatly missed, but she is now healthy, happy, and will continue to shine down on us.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Congregational Church in Amery. A visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Williamson-White Funeral Home in Amery, 222 Harriman Ave. N., as well as one hour prior to the service at the church. Musicians for the service will be Chris Lindee and Annette Murray Rud.
