Violet (Halverson) Erlitz, age 95 of Amery, Wisconsin passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Willow Ridge Health Care Center in Amery. She was born on November 23, 1915 in Alden Township, Wisconsin to Oscar and Esther (Bergquist) Halverson. She graduated as Valdectorian from New Richmond High School in 1934. She married Warren Erlitz on September 29, 1945 and to this union a daughter, Chris was born. Violet was active in the VFW Auxiliary serving as President of both the Lake Elmo VFW and 4th District in St. Paul. She worked as a legal secretary at Washington County Abstract in Stillwater, Minnesota and at Cwayna Law Firm in Amery. Violet lived in rural Amery for 30+ years before moving to an apartment in Amery where she enjoyed the view of North Twin Lake from her window. She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren and brother, John. She is survived by her daughter, Chris (Terry) Thorsheim; grandchildren, Tom, Toby and Tai Thorsheim; great grandchildren, Emily, Alexa, Joe and Lilly as well as other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 from First Lutheran Church in Amery. A visitation will be held the hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the New Richmond Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church in Amery.
