Virginia (Gini) Ogren was born to Dorothy and Sylvan Erickson of Bone Lake on December 9, 1947. She grew up attending Bone Lake Lutheran Church and graduated from Unity High School in 1966. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in 1970 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 1970 she was joined in marriage to Ron Ogren of Georgetown. Gini taught grades 1-3 at the East Luck country school for three years before taking a hiatus as her family began growing. She returned to teaching a decade later when, after receiving her Masters Degree in reading, she assumed the position of Reading Specialist/Remedial Reading at Turtle Lake Public School; a position she served in until her retirement in 2007.

Gini accepted the Lord as her Personal Saviour after the presentation of a Billy Graham film in 1966. Her relationship with the Lord continued throughout her life. She labored as a Sunday School teacher, Bible School teacher and coordinator, Bible camp teacher, counselor, dean, and committee member. One of her favorite things was directing the annual church Christmas program. She came to find that while life is fleeting, the love of God is eternal.

Gini was afflicted with dementia in the last years of her life but continued to enjoy her family and farm until May of this year when a serious seizure required her being admitted to the Amery Memory Care. AMC did a fantastic job in making Gini feel part of their community until her passing on August 9, 2016.

Gini and Ron are the parents of four children: Leslie (Ron) Lancette of Menomonie Wisconsin, Krista (Brett) Hansen of Balsam Lake, Erik (Amber) Ogren of Balsam Lake, and Heather (Dave) Tiedemann of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin.

Gini was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvan and Dorothy Erickson, her stepmother, Millie Wilder Erickson, and her sister, Dawna Erickson Hellstern. She's survived by her husband, Ron Ogren, her children, and her grandchildren, Joey Carlson, Camden Hansen, Noah Hansen, Teaghan Hansen, Emma Ogren, Evie Tiedemann, Erika Tiedemann, Sawyer Tiedemann, and Kyli Edwards-Lancette. Also surviving her are brothers Tim (Vickie) Erickson, Jon (Kim) Erickson, Sylvan (Lisa) Erickson, Craig (Paulette) Adair, and sister Andrea (Ann) Erickson, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Georgetown Lutheran church with Pastor Dennis Wright officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Monday at the Williamson~White Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Bunyan Cemetery immediately following the service.
