Walter Albert Sellent was born on April 2, 1928 on the family farm near Almena, Wisconsin. He was the son of Albert and Ida (Erb) Sellent. He grew up in Almena and attended the Maple Grove School. Following his schooling he remained on the family farm helping his parents. He went on to several occupations after leaving the farm. He was united in marriage on May 26, 1948 to Delores Schaffer and to this union three children were born. He did construction work, was an equipment operator for the township, worked as a mechanics assistant, worked as a field representative for Central Livestock Association, was a livestock hauler and ended his full time working at Andersen Window. In June of 1978 he was married to Beverly Fall and they operated the Red Rooster. Not to be one to sit around, in retirement, he worked at the Siren Golf Course. Walter served as an elder at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Almena and also was a member of the Board for Group Health Insurance. He enjoyed the outdoors and the hunting and fishing it offered. He taught his children and grandchildren to fish and hunt.
Walter was living in Cylon Township in rural New Richmond, Wisconsin at the time of his death on October 3, 2014 at the age of 86 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Margaret Draves and Dorothy Werking, granddaughter Melissa Sellent, sisters-in-law Doris and Deloris Sellent and brother-in-law John Draves. He will be deeply missed by his wife Beverly; children: Judy (Al) Scherff, Kathy (Larry) Gowin, Rick (JoAnn) Sellent, Linette (Pat) Brown, Doug (Diane) Fall, Bruce Fall, Cindy (Don) Keilen, Debby (Craig) Hansen and Steve (Karen) Fall; brothers: Bernard, George, Clarence (Bernice) and Henry (Nila) Sellent; brother-in-law Albert Werking as well as grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.


Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Deer Park on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation time for the hour before the service.
