William Francis Doyle was born on July 13, 1932 in Morris, Illinois the son of William and Lucille (McGinnis) Doyle. He grew up in Morris and after high school moved to Joliet, Illinois. On March 4, 1952 he entered the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. He was discharged in 1956. He returned home and went to college earning a degree in computer technology. He was employed by Amoco as a computer analyst for many years, first in Chicago, Illinois and later in Downers Grove. In retirement he moved with his father to Amery, Wisconsin in 1987. The morning routine was to walk downtown together to start the day off with breakfast. After the death of his father he remained in Amery. Bill was a quiet and gentle man. Those people who knew him were fortunate to have someone like him to call a friend. Bill has battled cancer and died on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Golden Age Manor in Amery. He will be missed by those who knew him.
Graveside services will be held at the Amery Cemetery on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Eric Christenson officiating.
