Yvonne Elizabeth Wurtinger – Hansen died unexpectedly on August 25, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota after a short illness. She was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on March 20, 1942 to Raymond and Amelia Campeau and was later adopted at a young age by Harry and Lillian Schmeck. Yvonne grew up in the New Richmond area and attended the New Richmond schools. In 1957, she married Kenneth Wurtinger and to this union 6 children were born. In 2001, after 43 years of marriage, she lost Ken to cancer. For many years she cooked at the New Frontier in Turtle Lake, and Wayne's Café in Amery. Later she worked at Hartzel's in Turtle Lake where she later retired from. She loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved quilting, whether it was by herself, or with the ladies from the church. She was very active at church and could usually be found in the kitchen. Yvonne had a very strong faith and relied on it throughout her life. She was a caregiver and was always looking after someone by either fixing a meal or spending time with them, and also volunteered many years at Golden Age Manor in Amery. In 2005, she married Valdemar Hansen and gained seven more daughters, with a new blended family who referred to themselves as the "baker's dozen". She loved dancing and made many new friends. She enjoyed being on the lake, whether in the boat, or just floating on the water, and also loved playing cards with Val's sisters on their scheduled days. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, sister Alice Aherns, brother Donald Campeau, step daughters Sharon Hansen, Debbie Riegel and Shelly Andrie. She is will be deeply missed by her husband Val, children Beth Sarsland, Kim (Greg) Patterson, Rita (Randy) Knaack, Chris (Jim) Tourville, Matt (Janice) Wurtinger, Hope Swagger, Elaine (Paul) Lorentz, Vicki (Galen) Stauner, Paula (Jim) Bremer, Teri Hansen and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, her siblings Boots Campeau, Jim Campeau, Leroy Campeau, Shirley Fletch and Delores Plaskett, and many other loving relatives and friends. A visitation will take place from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Deronda Lutheran Church, 1239 65th Avenue, Amery, WI and 1 hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Friday, August 29, 2014 from Deronda Lutheran Church with Pastor Julie Brenden officiating.
